In 2014 Prof. Dr. med. Stephan J. Linke founded after many years of professional expertise at university and private medical services (at home and abroad) the hamburgvisionclinic on the university campus Hamburg Eppendorf. All of his experiences, demands on technology and design were also incorporated into the planning and opening of the additional surgery-center Lasermedicum – precision in perfection. Dr. med. Johannes Steinberg
MD, FEBO, distinguished eye specialist and surgeon
After studying medicine and completing his doctoral thesis at the Charitè in Berlin, Johannes Steinberg moved to Hamburg to train as an eye-care-specialist in 2009. After successfully completing the German and European ophthalmology-examination, he founded zentrumsehstarke/ hamburgvisionclinic, the ophthalmology practice on the UKE premises, in 2014 together with Prof. Linke. A year later he completed his habilitation at the UKE and received a teaching position at the university clinic.
In addition to his daily work in the field of diagnostics and therapy in general ophthalmology, PD Dr. Steinberg became an experienced surgeon and specialist in lens and corneal diseases performing already more than 10,000 refractive surgical procedures, most of them in his own high-performance laser operating room.
Through his training, his experience and the joy in the possibilities of the constantly developing medicine, as well as the daily interaction with patients, students and colleagues, PD Dr. Steinberg is not only one of the founders, but still an enthusiastic member of the “sehstarke” team. The team’s premise is and remains the state-of -the-art, patient-centered, humane and independent care of people with vision problems and/or the desire for more vision-related quality of life.
Dr. med. Simon Dulz

As a former senior physician in the eye clinic at the University Hospital Hamburg Eppendorf and his long-standing surgical focus on eyelid and orbital surgery, Simon Dulz is your expert for the treatment of your eyelids and upper facial area. With more than 4,000 eyelid surgical procedures and a focus on plastic-reconstructive procedures in the facial area, his highly qualified training gave him comprehensive surgical and plastic-surgical expertise as well as extensive knowledge of microsurgical techniques right from the start of his self-employment . He has already published numerous scientific papers in medical journals and specialist books, as well as given lectures at specialist conferences and symposiums, and is an accredited member of the American Academy of Fascial Aesthetics and the European Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.
Mohamed Ghaly
MD, FEBO, distinguished eye specialist and surgeon
Dr. Mohamed Ghaly is your consultant for cornea, cataract, and refractive surgery.
After medical school in Cairo, he accomplished his residency there back in 2012. At the same time, he passed the ophthalmology exams of the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh. Afterwards he moved to Hamburg and successfully obtained the German and European specialty exams in ophthalmology.
He received a high-quality fellowship training in corneal surgery at the world-renowned Netherlands Institute for Innovative Ocular Surgery (NIIOS) in Rotterdam, where he gained extensive expertise with special focus on modern innovative methods of lamellar corneal transplantation (DMEK, DSAEK, DALK, BLT) as well as therapeutic eye laser treatments. Prior to joining “sehstärke“, He was working as a consultant ophthalmologist and lead for cornea services at one of the largest chains of eye hospitals in Hamburg, Lower Saxony and Schleswig-Holstein.
He is your highly experienced ophthalmologist, not only because of many years of clinical experience, but also through more than 5000 surgical procedures of the anterior segment of the eye under his belt. In addition to his role in “sehstärke“ he regularly takes a part in outreaches to Africa for improving the vision and fighting blindness. In addition, he a scientific referent in european and international conferences and journals for cornea and refractive surgery.
Through his experience, joy, and dedication, he ensures his patients the best possible individualized consultations and full spectrum therapies for corneal diseases, cataract and refractive lens and laser procedures.
Dr. med. Nils-Holger Bußmann
MD, FEBO, specialist for pediatric ophthalmology
A learned paramedic Dr. Bußmann studied medicine in Göttingen and Hamburg. Through his long standing work in different ophthalmologic practices (both medical as well as surgical) he specialized in pediatric ophthalmology apart from general ophthalmology.
